lyrics

She was chasing after light - a particle of fright.
She's the kind of wave that waves goodbye just as she says hello.
In her search for reverie, she discovered misery
Seemed a friend until she sank into the chasm down below.

She would search for things that bring her peace and love.
But the joy she found was never quite enough.
Her wings were lost and frosted to the core.
And her poetry was written, nevermore.

He was slowing down his time by focusing his mind.
Meditation promised patience and a healing for the soul.
But his thoughts became a blur, and his will was soon deterred.
When your heart is broken, tokens of the world will take their toll.

He would search for things that bring him love and light.
But the days were gray and blackened were the nights.
The drudgery of life became a bore.
And his poetry was written, nevermore.

The world has since moved on.
There’s no time for sad songs.
There are things to do and time to waste
So pace your seconds right.
Some live and some will die.
Why should we think to cry?
Inaction and distraction bring sedation to our lives.

Some will search for things that bring the world some joy.
But we’re all just busy playing with our toys.
Put down the pen and end this little chore.
For our poetry is written, nevermore.
